A Village for a Multimedia Museum

In December 2018, Justine made a model village out of books. The beguiling display was installed at the P.L. Travers Center – a multimedia museum in Maryborough, Queensland.

Fraser Coast Council purchased the building and has spent the last few years making it a two-storey interactive museum on the art of storytelling and Mary Poppins.

Mayor for the Fraser Coast George Seymour takes a lot of pride in how the Story Bank will be “not just a museum” but a way of encouraging education, literacy and reinvigorating Maryborough.

Local and interstate artists have added murals, sculptures, furnishing and written works to tell the story of Travers, Mary Poppins and the city of Maryborough.

Mary Poppins, pictured with the council’s Lisa Stephenson, appears throughout the museum. The statue of Mary Poppins above are for context only and were not made by Justine Wallace
